Information security expert Saed Hassunah said creating a Telegram account or changing a Facebook password had become difficult, particularly on Telegram. He described two possible routes, beginning with scanning a barcode, which requires direct access to the phone and app. He said the cybercrime unit had tried to convince activist Al-Fayez that this was the only way to create or activate an account on the same number, but she insisted nobody handled her device.
